Top 50 recruit Puff Johnson commits to North Carolina

Four-star wing Puff Johnson just verbally committed to North Carolina, he tells 247Sports.

“UNC, I felt was the best fit for me,” Johnson said. “I felt the most comfortable there and I felt at home in Chapel Hill.”

“I have been around UNC for a while and have been familiar with the players since Cam played there,” he added.

The connection between the Johnson family and North Carolina certainly helped the Tar Heels in this recruitment, and it allowed the younger Johnson gain familiarity with Roy Williams.

“Coach Williams is a great coach he is one of the best to do it,” Johnson said. “Seeing what he did first hand at the games is amazing.”1COMMENTS

With the commitment from Johnson, UNC’s class moves to No. 2 in the 247Sports Team Rankings. Johnson is UNC’s fifth pledge and joins a class that also includes five-star prospects Walker Kessler, Caleb Love and Day’ron Sharpe, plus four-star guard R.J. Davis.
