UNC Tar Heels Basketball Team Lose in 2 OT’s

The Tar Heels basketball team traveled to Blacksburg on Wednesday night to break the 5 game losing streak but came up short in 2 overtimes. The injury bug has got to end. Brandon Robinson didn’t travel with the team tonight still dealing with body aches from the car accident last week.
UNC got a valiant effort from Garrison Brooks with 28 points and 13 rebounds but too much perimeter shooting rather than attacking the basket at the end of the game doomed them.

Garrison Brooks had 28 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Justin Pierce had 15 points and 8 rebounds.
Leaky Black had 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists
Needs Work
The Tar Heels need to do a better job keeping the flow of offense going consistently. Garrison Brooks needs help scoring the ball. He also led the team with 6 assists.
They must take better care of the ball and have a better shot selection by moving the ball to the open man.
Final Observations
This is past frustrating watching this team give games away. UNC was in the bonus with 10 minutes left in the second half and settled for perimeter shots. When they did get to the foul line Black, Platek and Pierce Missed free throws that could have sealed the game.
This is the third time in 5 games that the Tar Heels have been up by double figures in the second half and go on to lose the game. North Carolina has to learn how to finish games. When you have the lead you have to have the score or get fouled mentality to end the game.
