Needs Work

The Tar Heels need to work on building chemistry and defining their roles. They need to work on their free throws for future games. They shot 60.7%

Final Observations

North Carolina showed well in their first game with a new head coach in Hubert Davis and three transfers being integrated into the rotation. They seemed to play well together in Hubert’s spread offense.

Caleb Love looks more confident and comfortable running the team. Armando Bacot played well in limited minutes due to foul trouble with some questionable calls by the refs.

Overall, this looks to be a very deep and talented team. Hubert and his staff are going to have to be creative in finding minutes for his players. Building chemistry and identity is what they really need to work on in the early part of the season. Next up is Brown University on Friday.

  1. Yeah, we definitely need to work on our free throws. It always seems like the team neglects them in the offseason every year. I don’t remember the last time we’ve been a great free throw shooting team. Wasteful.

  2. I was surprised to see Bacot with a somewhat pedestrian game. I’m looking for him to be more dominant this year. Hopefully the prospect of him shooting three’s this year doesn’t diminish his ability to score inside and rebound the basketball.
