UNC Tar Heels Basketball Team Runs Out of Gas Against Virginia

It seems that four games in four

days were a little too much for the Tar Heels. Playing the #1 team in the country after a hard-fought game against their arch rival Duke was a very tall task. The game was very physical. The officials allowed a lot of hand checking and bumping. Virginia plays error-free basketball so hitting your shots and not turning the ball over is at a premium. UNC did a poor job of fighting over ball screens and left UVA open for three-pointers. North Carolina’s defense wasn’t as sharp only causing 4 turnovers.

Joel Berry had 17 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal.

Kenny Williams had 12 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist.

Needs Work

The Tar Heels need to get some rest and get ready for the NCAA Tournament. They need to bring the same defensive intensity that was displayed in the ACC Tournament.

Final Observations

UNC showed the grit and the fight that is needed to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. They are getting quality contributions from the bench. Garrison Brooks seems to have turned a corner in his development.
