North Carolina needed a game like this to get their focus back for the second half of the ACC schedule. Six players scored in double figures giving the Tar Heels the needed balance that will be required to climb back up the ACC standings and make that deep March run. UNC moved the basketball and was very unselfish dishing out 29 assists on 36 field goals made. Luke Maye led all scoring with 26 points and 8 rebounds.

UNC Bright Spots

Luke Maye had 26 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals.

Kenny Williams had 15 points and 2 rebounds.

Cameron Johnson had 14 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Joel Berry had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Needs Work

The Tar Heels need to continue to improve on their 3 point defense. They allowed Pittsburgh to hit 10 3 pointers.

Final Observations

This will be a very important second-half stretch for the Tar Heels. Starting with Duke on Thursday. It was good to see Kenny Williams break out of his 4 game slump. UNC must stay focused on their perimeter defense. The Freshmen bigs play very efficient with Manley and Brooks contributing 10 points each. Roy needs to continue to give minutes to the bigs for their maturation process.
