UNC Tar Heels Basketball Team Lose Their Focus in the Second Half

The North Carolina Tar Heels completely collapsed in the final nine minutes of the game. Luke Maye and Joel Berry struggled offensively and defensively in key moments of the game when North Carolina needed it most. UNC had a commanding lead for most of the second half. Then they began to take quick shots or make unforced turnovers to let Duke back into the game. Roy chose to stick with the small lineup even though they were struggling to stop Duke’s big men from scoring inside and getting second-chance points. It’s tournament time!

UNC Bright Spots

Cam Johnson had 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Needs Work

Interior defense and 3 point defense.

 Final Observations

It’s a new season now. Win or go home. Roy must make adjustments and tailor his team to the opponents which present obvious mismatches. Small ball won’t work against ever team. Manley must play more against athletic skilled big men. Maye has no chance to contest their shots consistently. Berry must step up and finish every game making the big plays for North Carolina to go deep in the up coming tournaments.

  1. I am requesting that Seventh Woods transfer to either UNC-W or UNC-G. Both coaches have UNC ties and run similar systems.
I am having nightmares just thinking about him running the show next year!
