UNC Tar Heels Basketball Team Lose On a 3 pointer at the Buzzer
by Derrick Clyburn
The Tar Heels basketball team had six days off coming into senior night. Joel Berry got engaged and North Carolina came out flat against a Miami team desperate for a win to stay in contention for an NCAA birth. UNC struggled all night against the screen and roll. They couldn’t get enough stops to take control of the game. Miami hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to spoil senior night for Berry and Pinson. Joel Berry led all scoring with 31 points in his last game in the Smith Center.

UNC Bright Spots
Joel Berry had 31 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Cam Johnson had 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Theo Pinson had 12 points, 11 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Luke Maye had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Needs Work
The bench needs to be productive when they are in the game so the starters do not have to play so many minutes.
Final Observations
UNC has to get better defensively if they want to achieve their postseason goals. Manley needs to be used more when teams are dribble driving to the basket. Teams know there is no one to protect the rim. The Tar Heels don’t have long to sulk. They have to prepare for their season finale against Duke Saturday night. I think the six days off hurt the team’s flow and groove.
