UNC Tar Heels Basketball Season Debut Without Berry and Johnson

The Tar Heels basketball team opened the season against Northern Iowa tonight with Joel Berry and Cam Johnson on the bench nursing injuries. Carolina cruised to an 86-69 victory. Led by Luke Maye with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Carolina moved the ball well, playing unselfishly. The young bigs played well in their debut. Led by Garrison Brooks with 14 points and 6 rebounds.

Luke Maye had career high scoring 26 points and adding 10 rebounds.
Garrison Brooks in his debut had 14 points and 6 rebounds.
Sterling Manley as a reserve big had 9 points and 8 rebounds.
The team had only 7 turnovers playing without Berry and Johnson.
Needs Work
Pinson needs to drive the ball to the basket more. He took all 3 point shots.
Final Observations
It was the first game of the season. So it was good to see the new players get on the floor and show what they could contribute to the team. The team seems to be an unselfish group, making the extra pass. Luke Maye has worked on his offensive game. He showed off his whole repertoire.
