UNC Bright Spots

Luke Maye has been consistent in the first two games scoring 20 points and adding 9 rebounds.

Sterling Manley as a reserve big had 16 points,  13 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Theo Pinson had 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Needs Work

The freshmen bigs need to learn how to front the post better on defense to keep the opponent from getting easy buckets.

Final Observations

It was the first game back for Joel Berry. He was a little rusty. Luke Maye has been a very nice surprise on offense. He showed off his whole repertoire again. Cam Johnson will be out 4-6 weeks recovering from knee surgery. This will set the flow and rotation back that Roy wants til around January. Bucknell was a good early test for the Tar Heels. They had to work hard to the final minutes. Bucknell is projected to win their conference and be selected to the Big Dance.

  1. Very surprised at how Manley looked last night. He played against some decent upperclassmen bigs, and more than held his own in points, as well as on the glass with the offensive boards.
