UNC Tar Heels Basketball Team Bounce Back in New Orleans

by Derrick Clyburn

The Tar Heels took a big punch in the mouth Wednesday night with a loss to Wofford, but they bounced back nicely with a 14 point victory over the Buckeyes. It was good to see Carolina get back to their brand of basketball. They moved the ball, played with more intensity, and hit the open shot. Joel Berry and Theo Pinson both led the Tar Heels in scoring with 19 points each.

UNC Bright Spots

Theo Pinson played within himself and had one his best games of the season. He had 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 10-10 from the free throw line.

Joel Berry had 19 points and 3 rebounds.

Luke Maye 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Jalek Felton came off the bench with a big boost in the first half and had 12 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and went 4-5 from the 3 point line.

Cameron Johnson is still working himself back in shape as he had a solid 14 points and 5 rebounds.

Needs Work

The Tar Heels bigs need to play stronger around the basket on both ends of the floor. They must play with higher intensity and effort.

Final Observations

UNC made the adjustments and played with better intensity throughout the game, which is great to see in their last non-conference game before the ACC regular season starts. Cam Johnson will bring another scoring element to the team which will stretch defenses even more.
