UNC Tar Heels Football Team Ends Game With a Goal Line Interception
by Derrick Clyburn
The Tar Heels football team bounced back after a heartbreaking 6 OT loss to Va Tech to beat Duke on a game-saving interception on the goal line by Chazz Surratt. The defense stepped all day to keep North Carolina in position to win the game. UNC ended a three-game losing streak to Duke and has regained the Victory Bell.
The game wasn’t pretty but it was hard-fought by both teams. Each team turned the ball over three times. The Tar Heels win today has them tied for 1st place in the Coastal Division.

Javonte Williams ran 22 times for 111 yards.
The defense held Duke scoreless in the 4th quarter and capped it off with a game-saving win by Chazz Surratt intercepting the ball on the goal line.
Needs Work
The play calling has been inconsistent the last few games and Sam Howell has not been as accurate as he was at the beginning of the year. He was 10 out of 26 attempts with two interceptions.
Final Observations
UNC has so many nail-biters this year. Every game except Ga. Tech has come down to the last play or drive to determine the outcome. North Carolina needs to learn how to put teams away when they have the chance. They have had fumbles, missed field goals, blocked field goals and poor play calls that have cost them games all year.
A win is a win, so we will take this and move on. Next up is the Virginia Cavaliers. UNC controls their own destiny if they win out.
