UNC Tar Heels Football Team Losing Another Close Game in the Season Finale

by Derrick Clyburn

The Tar Heels football team plays so hard but can’t get out of its own way. Penalties, miscues, and broke coverages describe a great deal of what has happened to North Carolina all season. They score enough points to win games, but they can stop the other team from scoring in crucial moments. Sounds like the broken record played again. They had NC State on the ropes but let them off in the final minutes which allowed the game to go into overtime.

Bright Spots

Cade Fortin was 19 of 40 passing with 276 yards and 1 touchdown.

Javonte Williams ran for 83 yards on 16 carries and 1 touchdown.

Needs Work

The Tar Heels need to play mistake-free football on both sides of the ball. Fedora and the coaching staff have to help this team finish games. The coordinators need to be more aggressive with their play calling.

Final Observations

This was the season finale so, there needs to be some soul-searching for the whole football program to come up with a better path for the future.
