UNC Tar Heels Football Team Gets on the Winning Page

by Derrick Clyburn

The Tar Heels football team has now won its second game of the season. Western Carolina was the remedy for their losing woes on this day. North Carolina showed their same propensity to turn the ball over and commit silly penalties which have produced their eight losses. WCU just didn’t have the talent or manpower to overcome it. UNC was able to use this game to play a lot of underclassmen who usually don’t see the field. Hopefully, the game experience will help them in the future.

Bright Spots

Javonte Williams ran for 93 yards on 17 carries and 3 touchdowns.

Manny Miles threw a hail-mary touchdown on the last play of the 1st half from 38 yards out.

Needs Work

The Tar Heels need to play mistake-free football on both sides of the ball. Fedora and the coaching staff have to help this team finish games.

Final Observations

The Tar Heels have been in every game this season except the Miami game. They have turned the ball over and had inopportune penalties in every game. North Carolina must work on ball security, good decision making, and discipline. Only one game remains against their arch-rivals NC State. Hopefully, they can put it all together and end the year with a two-game winning streak.
