UNC Tar Heels Basketball Team Cruise by Boston College

by Derrick Isaiah Clyburn

Coming into tonight’s game against Boston College, the Tar Heels basketball team was looking to continue to be undefeated on the road in ACC play. In the first half, Boston College made some early three-pointers to keep in them in the game. Then, North Carolina would go on a 20-3 run to end the half. UNC held Boston College to just 24% shooting in the first half, which led to their 23-point lead at halftime.

The Tar Heels didn’t shoot as well in the second half but still played well enough on both ends of the floor to go on to win by 13. Cameron Johnson led the team in scoring with 22 points and the Tar Heels dominated Boston College on the boards, outrebounding the Eagles 60-35.

Final Observations

The Tar Heels basketball team is now 15-2 in ACC play and finishes 9-0 on the road. This team has really improved since the beginning of the season and seems to be hitting their stride at the right time as tournament play is approaching.

UNC is tied with Virginia for first place with one game remaining for each team in the ACC. They must win on Saturday against Duke to have at least a share of the ACC Regular Season Title.

Side Note: Coby just surpassed legendary Tar Heels basketball legend Michael Jordan on UNC’s all-time freshman scoring list tonight against Boston College.
