Three games in five days! That’s like an NBA schedule. But the Tar Heels basketball team gutted out their third victory. Notre Dame was very scrappy and hung around for most of the game by hitting 12 3 pointers. UNC is starting to hit their stride as we are in the final two weeks of the ACC regular season. Four Tar Heels were in double figures led by Joel Berry with 21 points and 3 rebounds.

 UNC Bright Spots

Joel Berry had 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assists.

Theo Pinson had 16 points, 5 assists, and  10 rebounds.

Kenny Williams had 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.

Cameron Johnson had 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Needs Work

The players coming off the bench need to be more productive when they are on the court.

The freshman bigs need to improve their help defense, be stronger with the ball on the offense, and improve on finishing better around the rim.

Final Observations

Roy must figure out how to steal more minutes for the starting five. They all logged over 30 minutes tonight.  Theo Pinson is the glue guy filling the stat sheet. He needs to continue attacking the rack putting pressure on the defense. 0verall, the North Carolina basketball team has played very well. Winning three hard fought games. UNC has put themselves in position to finish in the top 4 in the ACC and get a 2 game bye.
