UNC Tar Heels Football Team Gives Another Game Away

by Derrick Clyburn

The Tar Heels football team has given away games the last two weeks.  The opponents have won on last minutes drives or tied the game up to go into overtime. UNC has to get out of their own way and put teams away. Nathan Elliott had a career-high 332 yards passing and 2 touchdowns. While Dazz Newsome had a 75-yard punt return for a touchdown to go along with another one receiving. The Tar Heels were either missing field goals or being too conservative when it counted most.

Bright Spots

Nathan Elliott had a career-high 321 passing and 2 TDs.

Needs Work

The Tar Heels need to play mistake-free football on both sides of the ball. Fedora and the coaching staff have to help this team get over the hump and finish games. They got too conservative on two second-half drives that could have put the game away.

Final Observations

Somehow someway Fedora is going to have to build this team up to go fight another day. They left three games on the table that they could have and should have won. UNC hasn’t had a break with turnovers, injuries, or just closing out games. It’s hard to watch this team continue to struggle to win games that are in their grasp.
