UNC Tar Heels Basketball Team Win Third Road Game in a Row

by Derrick Clyburn

The Tar Heels basketball team win their third road game in a row. You can’t take ACC road games lightly. They come at a premium. North Carolina had a balanced attack with five players getting into double-figures. UNC shot 55% from the field and 45% from the 3-point line. They outrebounded Miami 39-23 on the boards. Cameron Johnson seems to be the player that wants to lead these Tar Heels. He led all scoring with 22 points and 7 rebounds.

UNC Game Stats

UNC Bright Spots

Cameron Johnson had 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Kenny Williams had 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists.

Luke Maye had 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Coby White had 15 points 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals.

Nassir Little had 12 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist.

Needs Work

The Tar Heels need to be more consistent with their energy and urgency on offense and defense. They tend to have lapses throughout the game. UNC also needs to continue working on cutting down on their turnovers and be more agresssive attacking the rim.

Final Observations

North Carolina seems to be still working on their identity. Cameron Johnson is showing senior leadership. Nassir Little has had a great two game stint getting into double-figures in both games. I love that aggressive power dunk down the middle of the lane. UNC needs to continue to build off each game and they need to get Sterling Manley back for the second half of the ACC season. So that they can get ready for tournament play. They will need is length and inside presence
