UNC Tar Heels Basketball Team Rout the Wolfpack

The Tar Heels basketball team made sure that this wouldn’t be the game that would get the Wolfpack back on the winning track. North Carolina played with great energy and intensity on both ends of the floor. They attacked NC State on every opportunity pushing the ball up the court at a frantic pace which led to a history breaking 113 points scored on the Wolfpack. UNC was led by Luke Maye who was relentless attacking the basket and on the boards scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds.

Luke Maye had 31 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Coby White had 21 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Cameron Johnson had 17 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Kenny Williams had 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Garrison Brooks had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist.

Needs Work

The Tar Heels need to keep the pressure on their opponent and not take their foot off of the gas when they have a big lead. UNC also needs to continue working on cutting down on their turnovers. They gave up 17 turnovers to the Wolfpack.

Final Observations

UNC is now 8-1 in ACC conference play. They are showing that they can win in many fashions. That’s a good sign. North Carolina’s scoring prowess was on display again tonight. When they score like that they can beat any team in the country.

The Tar Heels must continue to build off of their successes taking it one game at a time, not taking any team lightly. Once they get their roster healthy it will be fun to see what they can do at full strength.
