UNC Tar Heels Basketball Team Keeps Pressing Forward

by Derrick Clyburn

The Tar Heels basketball team has won 11 out of its last 12 games. They are showing that they can win in many fashions and styles. They have so many weapons on offense that the opponents can’t just key on one or two players. Tonight it was Coby White’s night. He had a season-high 34 points and 4 rebounds.

North Carolina won in businessman-like fashion. Syracuse was scrappy. They didn’t want to go away easily, but UNC kept the pressure on them with their offense. Even though they only shot 40% from the field.

UNC Game Stats

UNC Bright Spots

Coby White had 34 points, 3 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Cameron Johnson had 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 assist.

Nassir Little had 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 steal.

Needs Work

The Tar Heels need to defend the 3-point shot better.

Final Observations

North Carolina is making a statement to their Nay-Sayers. Letting them know that they want a number 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. UNC has put together a strong second half of the season. They are undefeated in the ACC on the road.

The strength of this edition of the Tar Heels is their versatility on the offensive end. Multiple players can get hot and carry the team. They also had a plus 21 rebounding margin.

  1. Syracuse always gives the Heels fits because of how awkward their style of play is. It’s a hard style to prepare for. I see it as a great win. Kenny Williams needs to wake up though
